CHARLESTON, MISSOURI – Concept AgriTek is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Chris Underwood, Ph.D., Chief Science Officer, to their growing team of agronomic and scientific experts throughout the U.S.
Dr. Underwood holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Central Florida, a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Clemson University and brings more than a decade of industry experience to the role.
Serving as the company’s Chief Science Officer, Underwood will help to bolster the technology: science and chemistry, that drive Concept AgriTek’s industry-leading product portfolio. Additionally, Underwood will lead the Concept AgriTek team of chemists and serve as an instrumental voice in the expansion of lab facilities and offerings.
“I’m excited to bring new technologies to market in this role,” Underwood says. “And to accomplish that, one of our first orders of business will be to build a new state-of-the-art lab just outside of West Palm Beach, Florida and better equip our existing lab in Charleston. We will also be heavily focused on creating more robust quality control and quality assurance protocols across both labs and throughout the company.”
The expansion and addition of new equipment will allow Concept AgriTek to offer in-house soil and tissue testing, increased capacity of freeze-thaw and stability testing for current products, allow for greater investigative research into biostimulants and root exudates and serve as the research platform in the development of new biological products, including adjuvants.
Completion of both projects is expected by summer 2023.
